ALEX AKIN AJAYI

Location:
Home is currently Muswell Hill, north London. After the end of next month however, I will be dividing my time between London and Tel Aviv, Israel. (That's the plan, anyway!)

Occupation:
Social worker

Literary interests / latest projects:
Difficult to name any specific literary influence or favourite book. For fiction, I would include Paul Auster, Haruki Murakami, Etgar Keret, William Boyd, early Tibor Fischer, Mark Twain, David Grossman, Wole Soyinka ... my favourite book is probably To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee (a cliché, I know, but true).
I read and enjoy a lot of non-fiction writing as well, particularly the literary/narrative non-fiction that the Americans seem to do so well.
Forthcoming plans: To open an English Language bookshop in Tel Aviv (this is more a dream than a plan, but there you go), to write more reviews and essays, and to develop a confident writing style.
Oh, and to be a good father to my four week old son.
