Poem

Terenure, Dublin 6W

Moving again, round the corner,
500 yards down the road,
Bushy Park rustles busily,
as tag ruggers chase the try

dog lovers ignore the signs and heads held high
walk on in a world where dogs have no ‘business’
the unwary runner slips again
victim of canine careless champions

silence at night in the new abode, no sirens
or bus reverbarations rattling doors
to shake your heart awake with mechanical roars
and leave you gasping for the dreamless sleep

500 yards from Terenure village
Hustle and bustle and quietude
Perhaps to put down roots again
at least for the next 6 months
