Where new writing finds its voice
Poem

Here and Now

Frank C Praeger

Having staved off the inevitable,
cherry blossoms,
mosquitoes,
having driven through the night,
having gassed up at some forgotten small town
in Arizona
or was it New Mexico,
not thinking about unpleasant facts,
not questioning anyone’s motives,
having driven on,
having driven on away from nitpicking,
                                                   daffodils,
                                                            sunsets.
