Biography:

19th and 20th Century literature and literary biography. I am working on a biography of the writer Barbara Comyns. Favourite books include Bonfire of the Vanities (Tom Wolfe); Who Was Changed and Who Was Dead and Our Spoons Came from Woolworths (Barbara Comyns); White Teeth (Zadie Smith); A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man (James Joyce); One Hundred Years of Solitude (Gabriel García Márquez); Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit(Jeanette Winterton); any thing by Dylan Thomas or Alan Bennett. My favourite biographies are Augustus John by Michael Holroyd and Shelley by Richard Holmes.
